The estate is located in the London Borough of Lewisham within the New Cross area.  The estate is largely occupied with post-war housing, which consists predominantly of low-rise dwellings and blocks of flats of up to 4 storeys.

Key principles of the masterplan include: Reconnecting the estate with the wider neighbourhood; Setting up clear, well defined routes into and through the estate; Improving east/ west movement with “green” routes; Drawing on the character of the established tree lined streets around, and; Creating usable high quality landscape spaces for all ages, benefitting the whole community.
